Tropical Storm Kyle continues to be affected by strong southwesterly shear. This is keeping convection and the strongest winds to the east of the center and will keep any strengthening in check for the time being. Shear should lessen somewhat in the next 24 hours, and Kyle could become a hurricane tomorrow night. The model track guidance is fairly tight with a consensus on Kyle passing about 100 miles east of Cape Cod, and then striking western Nova Scotia. On this track, TS force winds will remain offshore, and eastern New England will likely not be affected significantly by the storm itself. Otherwise, Kyle will enhance moisture over New England and contribute indirectly to heavy rain and flooding. Kyle will begin transitioning to an extratropical storm by the time it reaches the Gulf of Maine.
